Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is famous for Ume blossoms. There are also 250 maple trees. Did you know that? I didn’t know that until recently. The season to see maple trees is generally Autumn, but the maple trees in this season are just as attractive as they are in Autumn. The area where maple trees are planted is open until the end of May. So I visited there the other day.

When I entered the area, I found a bright green spreading all along the Kamiya River. I then walked on the path for a while and saw a little read bridge among the green. The fresh green was full of energy, it was a different beauty from Autumn’s red leaves.
It was nice weather on Saturday. Even so there were not many people around.
It was a good spot to relax and take pictures. The sound of the blowing through the Bamboo surrounding the area was really pleasant. Such a peaceful and enjoyable place.

The entrance fee is 500 yen and you can also visit the special exhibition of Tachi-sword. It is well worth it. If you are interested in swords as well as this historic shrine, now is a good time to visit Kitano Temangu Shrine!
Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to visit the Tachi-sword exhibition this visit but I’m sure it would be enjoyable.
